A group of UCSC academic staff to participate in short term Research and Development activities on Robust Speech Recognition, 3D graphics and Multimedia Database left for Japan on 10th of May 2004.

This visit was to contribute the on-going Research and Development at UCSC in the respective fields. This visit was a part of the JICA project for Human Resource Development in Information Technology through capacity building of the University of Colombo School of Computing.

Participants stayed for 3 weeks to 3 months at Toyohashi University of Technology, Toyohashi, Japan. Dr. N D Kodikara, Mr. S T Nandasara, Dr. D. D. Karunaratne, Dr. G. D. S. P. Wimalaratne and Mr. G. P. N. Boteju took part in this visit.
